Why teams switch to VRS

Where spreadsheets and generic tools give up.

None of this is roadmap. It's live, in daily use by operations teams running hundreds of workers across multiple sites.

01

A rules engine you can read

Overtime thresholds, rest requirements, supplements, allowances: written as named rules, not buried in code. Every calculated line traces back to a rule you can open. Change one and the system recalculates retroactively.

02

Timebanks with real limits

Flex balance, overtime balance, leave entitlement. Caps and warnings fire while shifts are being planned and hours approved, which is early enough to actually fix something. Not three weeks later in a payroll report.

03

Approvals that remember their context

Chains route by department, project, amount and role. When a decision is recorded, the policy version that governed it is frozen into the audit entry, so you can replay any past approval and see which rule set applied and who decided.

04

Compliance inside the calculation

Statutory rest rules, weekly hour caps and union-agreement supplements are enforced at the moment of calculation and approval. A shift that would breach a rest rule gets flagged before it's published. An approval that would push a worker over their OT cap warns the approver inline.

These are not after-the-fact reports. They run in the pipeline.

05

An assistant that knows your data

AI Chat reads from your actual VRS data, permission-scoped: shifts, approvals, compliance state, payroll status. Managers ask operational questions in Norwegian or English; workers ask about their own hours. A human confirms before anything is changed.

Employee mobile app

The app employees actually use.

Watch a full day flow: clock in, run the session, see the calculated result, fix an hour. Clean enough that Høyer's whole team self-onboarded in two weeks, zero training.

One-tap clock in/out

Or fully automatic via geofencing. Never blocking.

Practical shift nudges

Proactive alerts before issues arise.

Full schedule & self-service

Shifts, approved hours, leave balance. Swap, request, fix.

Multi-tenant, multi-company, partner-ready.

Run several legal entities under one group with isolated data, per-company pay rules and consolidated oversight. Switch company in a click; data, rules and approvals stay scoped to where they belong.

Accounting firms and staffing operators get the same model from the outside: they administer many customer tenants through partner access, and the data boundary between customers holds no matter who is signed in.

Trust & traceability

Every corrected hour leaves a paper trail.

When a worker needs to fix a logged hour, it becomes a change request the manager approves or rejects. Never a silent edit. Both sides see the same record.

Underneath, an immutable, effective-dated audit log keeps who changed what, when and why. Any past pay period can be replayed exactly as it was calculated at the time.
